Using a standard 8 oz/250 ml measuring cup which contains approximately 122 g of Pro Plan. We recommend that you keep your dog in ideal body condition and not allow your dog to become overweight. The exact amount of food your dog requires will need to be adjusted according to age, activity and environment. But a good place to start is with these guidelines for an average, active, adult dog fed once daily. Provide adequate fresh water in a clean container daily. For your petâs health, see your veterinarian regularly. MAKING THE SWITCH TO PRO PLAN Although youâll be anxious to see the difference Pro Plan can make in your dog, please allow 7 - 10 days to ease the transition from your dogâs current food. Each day, simply feed a little less of the previous food and a little more Pro Plan until youâre feeding Pro Plan exclusively. This gradual transition will help avoid dietary upsets.
When introducing a new food or treat, it's best to allow your pet to adjust gradually. For new food, we recommend a 7-day transition. Begin with a 75:25 ratio of old to new food on Day 1 and Day 2, shifting to a 50:50 mix on Day 3 and Day 4, and a 25:75 balance on Day 5 and Day 6. By Day 7, your pet can fully enjoy their new food. For treats, remember to feed them sparingly — they should constitute no more than 10% of your pet's daily caloric intake. Monitor your pet for any unusual reactions when introducing a new treat. Treats are not a substitute for balanced, complete meals.
