Ren’s Rewards Program Terms and Conditions

BE ADVISED that the terms and conditions of the Ren’s Rewards Program (the “Program”) have been updated (such terms and conditions, as amended, the “Terms and Conditions”). These changes are intended to enhance members’ experience and clarify the benefits and requirements of the Program. BE ADVISED that any existing Member can refuse such modifications and terminate its participation in the Program without having to pay any fees, indemnities, or penalties, by providing Ren’s Feed and Supplies Limited (hereinafter, “Ren’s”, “us”, “our” or “we”) with a written notice to that effect within the thirty (30) days following the date on which such Member has received the notice with respect to the changes made to the Program. Unless an existing Member expressly terminates its membership within that thirty (30) day period, its continued participation in the Program will constitute such existing Member’s consent to these Terms and Conditions, as amended.
Description of the Ren’s Rewards Program
1. The Program is a loyalty reward program offered by Ren’s to customers shopping at its stores (collectively, the “Stores” and each individually a “Store”) and online on Ren’s website.
2. The Program allows persons who have completed the membership enrollment steps in accordance with the present Terms and Conditions (each a “Member”, “you”, “your”) to collect rewards points (“Rewards Points”) when completing activities or transactions that qualify for benefits under the Program as identified from time to time by Ren’s, which include, but are not limited to, making purchases in-store, online, or by phone on items, as well as completing certain actions and activities (“Eligible Activities”), and to redeem these Rewards Points for rewards, benefits and/or rebates offered by Ren’s from time to time.
3. Ren’s may designate from time to time, partners from whom Members will be able to collect or redeem Rewards Points in the Program on the terms and conditions established by Ren’s and the relevant partner (the “Partners”). These participating Partners are independent entities and have their own additional terms and conditions and policies that apply to the accumulation and redemption of Rewards Points, which terms and conditions you must accept in order to accumulate or redeem with them as applicable. Ren’s is not responsible for the terms and conditions under which they provide for the accumulation of Rewards Points or for the nature or quality of the products or services redeemed through them.
4. Members acquire no vested right or entitlement to the continued availability of any particular reward or benefit or redemption level.
How to join the Ren’s Rewards Program
5. Becoming a Member of the Program is free and no initial purchase is required. You must meet the eligibility requirements set out below and complete the enrollment process by providing complete and accurate information to Ren’s and indicating your acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. A membership can be set up in-store or by phone by providing the required information to Ren’s or online by signing up here. Information that must be provided to Ren’s includes your first name, last name, postal code, unique valid email address and phone number. You may also be asked to provide optional additional data, such as gender, date of birth or preferred language during your membership in the Program. Our privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) is incorporated into these Terms and Conditions and also governs your participation in the Program. Please read the Privacy Policy carefully to understand how Ren’s collects and uses personal information.
6. After completion, the Member will receive a Ren’s Rewards member number (“Member Number”) and its account will be created (“Ren’s Rewards Account”). Only one Ren’s Reward Account is permitted per person. We reserve the right to terminate any Ren’s Rewards Account if a Member is found to have created or attempted to create multiple accounts in violation of these Terms and Conditions.
7. By joining the Ren’s Rewards Program, the Member implicitly agrees to receive Ren’s e-mail newsletter released periodically to be informed of current promotions and benefits related to the Program as well as other advertising, promotional and marketing materials sent in different ways. A Member may choose to unsubscribe from Ren’s newsletters at any time by using the link provided in the newsletter or by sending an email at info@renspets.com.
8. Each Member may participate in all available special programs offered from time to time by Ren’s in connection with this Program subject to meeting the required conditions, including the Frequent Buyer Program and the VIP Program.
Eligibility Requirements
9. The Program is only available to individuals with a valid Canadian address and who are 16 years of age or older and is not available to corporations, businesses, charities, partnerships, enterprises, schools or anyone other than an individual, unless written approval is received in advance from Ren’s, in its sole discretion. Rewards Points will not be awarded if in Ren’s reasonable opinion the merchandise purchased will be used for resale and any Rewards Points awarded on such purchases will be forfeited. If a Member was awarded Rewards Points for an offer or promotion in which a Member purchased product in excess of reasonable quantities, the Rewards Points awarded as a result of that offer or promotion may be forfeited without prior notice and, in some cases, the Ren’s Rewards Account may be suspended or closed.
10. Ren’s reserves the right to refuse issuance of a Ren’s Rewards Account to any person who does not follow the prescribed enrollment procedures. If for any reason we believe a Member is under the age of 16, we reserve the right to request proof of age. If such proof is not provided, all personal information regarding that individual may be deleted from our system and the Ren’s Rewards Account may be closed, including the immediate forfeiture of all Rewards Points.
Allocation of Ren's Rewards Points
11. To earn and collect Rewards Points following enrollment, you must complete Eligible Activities under a valid Member’s Ren’s Rewards Account. Unless otherwise specified by Ren’s for specific promotions or other special programs offered by Ren’s, Rewards Points will be awarded at the rate of one (1) Rewards Point for every one (1) dollar spent on purchases constituting Eligible Activities. Rewards Points will be calculated by reference to the net price total before taxes, freight/shipping costs and after applying any available discount on each transaction. The total Rewards Points awarded in the Ren’s Rewards Account will be rounded down to the nearest dollar (for example, $1.99 will round to 1 point, and $2.01 will round down to 2 points). Ren’s may offer special promotions in participating Stores, with specific Partners or online from time to time pursuant to which additional Rewards Points may be available to Members for specific Eligible Activities. Such bonus Rewards Points, once awarded, shall form part of the Member’s Rewards Points balance.
12. Rewards Points balance of a Member, including bonus Rewards Points, is available on the Member’s online account accessible here. On occasion, Rewards Points and bonus Rewards Points will be issued for a particular purchase or activity after the purchase or activity has taken place, in which case Rewards Points may only be updated and appear on the Member’s Rewards Points balance within 72 hours of the relevant transaction or activity. Members may also inquire about their Rewards Points balance by calling the Ren’s Rewards Customer Service Centre at 1-519-780-4312 or by enquiring a Ren’s employee in one of Ren’s Stores.
13. In the event of a return or refund of any products made in accordance with our return policy, all Rewards Points awarded for that purchase will be automatically deducted from the Ren’s Rewards Account used for the original purchase and Rewards Points used for such purchase, if any, will be refunded to such Ren’s Reward Account.
14. In the event of a discrepancy, our internal database and records will be deemed to be accurate unless proven otherwise. Discrepancies must be addressed with the Ren’s Rewards Customer Service Centre within thirty (30) days of the date on which the discrepancy occurred. Ren’s reserves the right to restrict redemption or suspend a Ren’s Rewards Account for up to ninety (90) days from the date the Rewards Points are posted to a Ren’s Rewards Account if Ren’s has reasonable belief that fraud has occurred or in the event of a breach or suspected breach of the Terms and Conditions of this Program.
15. Membership benefits, including Rewards Points, are exclusively available to the individual Ren’s Rewards Account holder. Rewards Points are not transferable to any other person, including from one Member to another. Ren’s may, however, in its sole discretion allow the transfer of Rewards Points on a case-by-case basis. Redemption of Rewards Points and Benefits
16. Rewards Points may be redeemed for rewards consisting of a dollar amount off a purchase in-store, online or by phone at a rate of 500 Rewards Points for five (5) dollars and may not be redeemed retroactively for previous purchases. Ren’s may, from time to time, offer supplementary programs, rewards, benefits or promotions related to the Ren’s Rewards Program and its special programs.
17. In accordance with federal and provincial tax legislation, all applicable taxes are calculated and payable by the Member on the full amount of the purchase price of the item subject to a dollar discount arising from the redemption of Rewards Points.
18. Reward Points may not be collected or redeemed by any person other than the Member for which the Ren’s Rewards Account is used. A Member may be asked to show proof of identification when redeeming Rewards Points to protect the integrity of the Member’s Rewards Points balance.
19. Rewards Points have no monetary value and cannot under any circumstances form the basis of a monetary claim against Ren’s, its affiliates or any Partners, Reward. Any Rewards Points so acquired are void. The accumulation of Rewards Points does not entitle the Members to any vested rights, and Ren’s and/or Partners do not guarantee in any way the continued availability of any reward, redemption level, rebate or any other benefit arising out of the Program.
Members’ Responsibilities
20. Members are responsible to keep their personal information accurate and up-to-date and to inform Ren’s of any change of their personal information, including name, address, and email address either by logging in to their account, by asking a Store employee to update the information in-store or by contacting us at 1-519-780-4312. Members cannot share their Ren’s Reward Account with anyone else and are entirely responsible for keeping their Ren’s Reward Account secure. Ren’s Rewards Account information, including, but not limited to, the Member Number and the password of such Ren’s Rewards Account should be protected and kept secure by the Member. Ren’s reserves the right to suspend redemptions where the Member information is inaccurate or incomplete.
Termination of Membership
21. You may terminate your membership in the Program and close your Ren’s Rewards Account at any time without cost or penalty. You should redeem all Rewards Points in your Ren’s Reward Account prior to such termination. Any Rewards Points at the time you terminate your membership or close your Ren’s Rewards Account will be immediately forfeited, and you will no longer have any rights as a Member or entitlement to any such Rewards Points.
22. A Ren’s Reward Account also terminates upon the death or personal bankruptcy of a Member.
23. Any abuse by a Member of the Program’s privileges, any failure by a Member to follow the Program’s Terms and Conditions, or any misrepresentation by a Member may subject the Member to expulsion from the Program, including closure of such Member’s Ren’s Rewards Account and forfeiture of all accumulated Rewards Points at Ren’s sole discretion.
24. We reserve the right to suspend or cancel any Ren’s Rewards Account for which we have incomplete or inaccurate personal information and all Rewards Points redemptions on that Ren’s Rewards Account may be blocked and any Rewards Points awarded may be forfeited. The submission of false or fictitious personal information may result in all the Rewards Points accumulated on a Ren’s Rewards Account being forfeited.
25. Ren’s may, forthwith and without the need for a prior notice, terminate the membership of any Member who it believes has failed to abide by (and comply with) these Terms and Conditions.
26. An inactive Ren’s Rewards Account may be closed and all associated Rewards Points forfeited, in which case a prior written notice of inactivity will be sent to the Member, informing such Member that its Ren’s Rewards Account will be closed and its balance of Rewards Points will expire at a specific date unless action is taken; provided that such notice of inactivity will be sent at least thirty (30) but no more than sixty (60) days before the Member’s Ren’s Rewards Account is set to be closed. A Ren’s Rewards Account is considered inactive if no Rewards Points is earned, collected or redeemed on such account for a period exceeding twelve (12) consecutive months.
Modifications and Amendments to the Program
27. Ren’s reserves the right to, in its sole discretion, unilaterally amend, restrict, suspend, extend or otherwise alter or limit the Program, these Terms and Conditions, the benefits made available under the Program (including the applicable conditions, restrictions, limitations and criteria) or may terminate all or part of the program any time at its sole discretion by posting a notice on its website or by contacting you by email. For Quebec residents, such notification will be provided between the 90th and 60th day before a change comes into effect. The notification will set out the new clause, or the amended clause and how it read formerly, and the date on which the change will come into effect.
28. Unless you expressly terminate your membership in the Program upon a change to these Terms and Conditions, your continued participation in the Program will constitute your consent to a change to these Terms and Conditions, as amended.
Indemnification and Limitation of Liability
29. Liability and Indemnity. Each Member agrees that Ren’s will not be responsible or liable for any claims regarding the redemption and use of any reward, rebate, benefit, or any loss or damage caused by goods and services supplied as a reward provided by Ren’s, a Partner, or any other third party participating in the Program. The Member releases Ren’s and each Partner, including their affiliates, divisions, related companies, and all of their respective officers, directors, owners, and employees (collectively the “Releasees”), from any and all liability and claims arising from or connected to such reward, rebate, or benefit, including but not limited to the collection, redemption, and use thereof, as well as any loss or damage caused by such reward, rebate, or benefit. Ren’s shall not be liable for misdirected email or mail communications, including any notices under these Terms and Conditions or any consequences thereof where your personal information is inaccurate or no longer valid.
30. Disclaimer. SAVE FOR RESIDENTS OF THE PROVINCE OF QUÉBEC AND TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ALL ASPECTS OF THE PROGRAM AND EVERYTHING ON ANY PARTNERS’ SITE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT ANY CONDITION, REPRESENTATION, OR WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
31. Québec Residents. For residents of the province of Québec, the limitations and exclusions of liability set out in this clause apply only to the extent permitted by the laws of the Province of Québec.
Governing Law
32. The Program, including these Terms and Conditions, is governed by the laws of the province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without reference to conflict of laws provisions. Any disputes relating in any way to these Terms and Conditions, the Program or any benefits thereof shall be submitted to the courts of the Province of Ontario which shall have exclusive jurisdiction over such disputes. However, in respect of residents of the Province of Québec, these Terms and Conditions are governed by the provincial laws of the Province of Québec and the federal laws applicable therein.
33. In the event that any provision in these Terms and Conditions is determined to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, such determination shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any other remaining provisions of these Terms and Conditions.
General Information
34. If events beyond Ren’s reasonable control affect Ren’s ability to operate the Program, the Program may be suspended or terminated without notice.
35. Your acceptance of these Terms and Conditions online or your first-time usage of Rewards Points constitutes your agreement to these Terms and Conditions and of our Privacy Policy.
36. Ren’s has made efforts to ensure the accuracy of information contained herein. However, Ren’s is not responsible for any error or omission.
37. Any waiver by Ren’s of the strict observance, performance or compliance by a Member with any of the Terms and Conditions contained herein, either expressly granted or by course of conduct, shall be effective only in the specific instance and shall not be deemed to be a waiver of any rights or remedies of Ren’s as a result of any other failure to observe, perform or comply with the Terms and Conditions. No delay or omission by Ren’s in exercising any right or remedy hereunder shall operate as waiver thereof or of any other right or remedy.
38. Ren’s reserves the right to sell, transfer or assign all or part of the Program to any of its affiliates, related or parent companies and to any third party.
