Although the summer season has come to an end, that doesn’t mean the risk of a tick or flea infestation in your four-legged family member has! As pet parents, we never want our fur babies to be in any pain or discomfort, so it’s important to be proactive when it comes to flea and tick prevention. Ren’s Pets is pleased to announce that we now carry Advantage II for cats and dogs and K9 Advantix II for dogs, helping to protect your furry friend against these pests and saving you a trip to the vet just to pick up the product!

Advantage II

Unlike oral flea medications that require fleas to bite your pet before they die, Advantage II is applied topically to your dog or cat and kills fleas on contact. This monthly topical application can be used on dogs and puppies seven weeks of age or older, or cats and kittens eight weeks of age or older. By targeting fleas of all life stages, Advantage II stops bites within 3 to 5 minutes, kills 98% - 100% of fleas within 12 hours, and kills reinfesting fleas within eight hours, helping to ensure your pet remains comfortable. When applied to your pet’s skin, Advantage II spreads evenly across the skin’s surface, and when adult fleas encounter it, they become paralyzed and die. Also containing an insect growth regulator, Advantage II works to prevent flea eggs and larvae from growing, ultimately killing them.

As there are separate Advantage II products specially formulated for cats or dogs, which you can match to your pet by weight, be sure to read all labels and directions to select the most appropriate one.

K9 Advantix II

Suitable for dogs and puppies eight weeks of age and older, K9 Advantix II provides head to tail protection for your canine companion against fleas, ticks and other pests. Containing three active ingredients (two to kill pests and one insect growth regulator), this monthly topical application is applied to your dog’s skin down their back and evenly spreads over the skin’s surface. K9 Advantix II kills pests such as fleas, ticks and mosquitos through contact, meaning they don’t have to bite your dog to be killed. K9 Advantix II also kills lice and reduces biting by stable flies. Not only does it kill adult fleas on your four-legged family member, but K9 Advantix II is effective against fleas of ALL life stages, helping you prevent against flea infestations on your dog and in your home!

K9 Advantix II can NOT be used on and is toxic to cats. If you use K9 Advantix II on your dog, you must keep them separated from your cat for 12 hours after application.
