Ren’s Pets Donates $38,000 to OVC Pet Trust

[Guelph, ON, February 25, 2020] - Ren’s Pets, a specialty retailer of pet supplies in Canada, is pleased to announce a $38,000 donation to OVC Pet Trust as part of their continued support of this national charity. This donation brings the total donation to $53,000 over the past three years, raised through cookie sales, in-store events and customer donations. Part of the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC), University of Guelph, OVC Pet Trust is Canada’s first charitable fund that is entirely dedicated to the health and well-being of companion animals.

The funds donated were raised during the company-wide Ren’s Pets “Dogust” event held throughout August 2018/2019. Each Ren’s Pets location rallied behind the cause and held in-store events and sold Bosco and Roxy’s dog cookies with all proceeds going towards OVC Pet Trust.

“We truly believe that our companion animals are family members who deserve the best care possible,” said Scott Arsenault, President of Ren’s Pets. “Thank you to all our amazing and supportive customers for their incredible contributions!”

OVC Pet Trust supports healthcare, research and education at OVC to help pets like Bella, an eight-year-old Boxer mix that was diagnosed with osteosarcoma and had to have her leg amputated. Ren’s Pets celebrates Dogust every year to help raise funds to support animals like Bella and are proud to support innovative discoveries that improve the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases in pets.
