This is hands down my favourite tool for thick coated breeds and mat splitting. It is amazing for removing thick and impacted undercoat. I use it for under-groomed Shelties, Bernese, Doodles- anything with a thick coat. The dogs loves how the blunt end feels on thier skin.

The only down side is that the tool does not come with a blade guard for when it is not in use. I have cut myself on the sharp blades reaching for it more than once.

I found this product difficult to use. The design of it makes it hard to use safely. I prefer dematting rakes with the handle going to the side rather than down. I also found the blades weren't nearly sharp enough and just pull on even minor matting.
