Mine stopped after a few months too. I use un-softened (but sterilized) well water which seems to calcify the pump.
"When all else fails, read the instructions."
Pull the pump apart with fingers, then pull out the little propeller. If it's stuck, it's because of the calcium. Put the pump and propeller in vinegar for 24 hours to dissolve the calcium.
Pump works fine again. Just wash it thoroughly with plain water to get rid of the vinegar taste. Do this every 2-3 months.

This is my second such 'fountain' - as the other reviewer - motor broken after 3 months. Waste of money.
Of course, they loved it - but it now just is another addition to the recycle yards. What a waste.

Filter on the pump needs to be cleaned every week, but the pump stopped working after three months.
Replacement filters are expensive
Cats loved it for a while it worked.
