As a new resident to Burlington, I've made it my goal to find the best places to walk my three dogs. After scouring the web, I stumbled upon a park that attaches to the Bruce Trail.
Located at 2198 Kerns Rd in Burlington, Kerncliff Park is 99 acres of beautiful scenery (including views of Lake Ontario!) and amazing trails on the Niagara Escarpment. This property was originally the site of the Nelson Quarry, which ceased production about 30 years ago. Since then, the site has been used by residents for recreation.
The park is undergoing restoration in phases which includes the stabilization of the quarry walls and the creation of boardwalks across the wetland environments. It also presently features a pavilion, washrooms and parking.
