From October 17th to November 4th, submit your Halloween-inspired photos of your pet. All pets are welcome! It doesn't matter the type of animal, if they are in a costume we would LOVE to see them!

We encourage you to invite your friends to LIKE us on Facebook, since judging is based completely on the amount of "likes" each photo get on Facebook. A contest-specific album will be created and "likes" will only be counted on the photos within the contest album. Once transferred, your photo will be found in this album where everyone else can leave a like to vote for their favourites. The photo with the most "likes" wins!

Grab your backpacks, your pencils and your dog bowl - it's back to school time already! This time of year has a lot of, hmmm, finances put into it, so let Ren's help you out this month with a chance to win a $100 Gift Card!

Photo Permissions: Alecia - Summer Photo Contest 2012

What a glorious summer it's been so far at Ren's Pets. Within days of beginning our Facebook photo contest at the beginning of July, we were inundated with hilarious, adorable and outright incredible photos of our customer's pets in summer-themed style.

Arguably our best photo contest to date, we received almost 100 photos. But this time around, we changed the rules a bit. Followers were invited to either post their entries on our Facebook Wall, private message them to us or to email them to us directly. However, instead of having our staff decide on the winner this time around (a la Easter Contest), we wanted to let everyone else choose!

Voting was done by simply "Liking" the photo once placed in the Official-super-serious-all-business-no-funny-stuff album. The photo with the most number of Likes would win!

Only a few hours before the close of the contest, I, your humble social media servant, anxiously gnawed away at my manicure, awaiting to see how the votes would climb.

Within half an hour, the top photo, which already had almost 300 votes, crashed through that ceiling and by midnight, hit almost 400!

The photo, a focused image of a beautiful Keeshond hypnotized by a strawberry ice cream cone, was entered by a true hero. It first blew my mind how the entrant, Alecia, received so many votes on her entry. My heart soon turned to mush after learning that should her photo win, she would donate the prize, a $50 Ren's Pets Depot Gift Card, to Keeshond Rescue Ontario!

I shared this information company-wide, and the response from our staff was also incredible. We're so happy to be helping a rescue organization in their efforts and even more touched that someone would donate their winnings so selflessly. It reminded us, once again, that pet owners truly can be the most altruistic people on the planet.

So, congratulations to Alecia and her beloved Keeshond, Taiga! Your photo was imaginative, adorable and hilarious all at the same time.

The Dog Days of summer are upon us- and we're about to make it as sweet as Southern Ontario strawberries.

Our first photo contest was such an enormous hit, we decided this has to be a quarterly thing!

Now until July 31st, submit your summer-inspired pictures of your pets. Creativity is key, and crazy props aren't required. Shots can range anywhere between your pet in Canada Day themed gear to your dog jumping off the dock at your cottage to your cat chillin' by the pool. The possibilities are endless, so show us and your fellow Ren's Pets Depot customers what you've got!

The reward? A chance to win one $50 Gift Card to use either IN-STORE OR ONLINE!

The team at Ren's would like to wish Chrissy D. a huge congratulations for winning our Facebook Easter Photo Contest. We received over 20 entries this year, and it was an incredibly difficult decision to make!

We were astounded with the variation in pet pictures submitted this year; from the expected dog and cat pictures to horses, birds, bunnies and even snakes!
